Samsung Galaxy A14 will launch looking quite like the Galaxy S23 and with a screen-size upgrade – Notebookcheck.net

The Galaxy A14 4G might be one of the cheapest Android smartphones Samsung launches in 2023; however, new renders give it a rear camera hump not hugely unlike that linked to its putative flagship S23 counterparts. The putative budget model is also now thought to debut with a display bigger than that of its A13 predecessor, flattened edges and a 3.5mm jack.

Samsung is rumored to have taken the Galaxy S22 Ultra’s heretofore-exclusive, individually-machined-lens rear camera style and refined it for the upcoming S23 series. Now, according to new renders posted by OnLeaks in partnership with GizNext, the resulting rear panel style might indeed be constant for the OEM’s entire Android smartphone line-up for 2023.

This apparently even goes for the successor to the 4G/LTE-only version of the budget A13, although it may be paired to a relatively low-end, FHD+ display with a U-shaped notch in that case. Then again, the “A14’s” screen is now tipped to be 6.8 inches in diagonal length, compared to 6.6 inches in its alleged forebear.

The entry-level A14’s rumored adoption of the S22 Ultra look means it may have 1 less rear camera than its predecessor; then again, if it is the depth of field or macro shooter that gets the axe, that may be no bad thing.

Otherwise, the ‘Galaxy A14 4G’ is projected to have flattened sides not that different from that of the A13, which might suggest more plastic for its black rear panel. Those edges are now rumored to contain a fingerprint sensor/power button; therefore, there may be no chance of an upgrade to OLED in this generation either.

All in all, the A14 as depicted in this new leak may represent a relatively mild upgrade from its well-received forebear, save in looks. Should it really launch in that form, Samsung will hopefully refrain from charging a premium for the design update.
