I changed my Samsung account details and didn’t unregister my Smart Tag + from Smarthings beforehand, there was no warning.
Now my Smart tag + cannot be used as no way to unlink from a dead account.
Even with packing and receipts from Samsung store they say they cannot help in anyway due to security design.
No more Samsung tags for me after that, there should be a way for Samsung to wipe and reset, especially when I am 5 minutes from official repair centre and can take it there.

Broke the screen of my G8x and they replaced it for 50 % off as my warranty was over. and the whole thing took 2 days at most. They were friendly and made sure to call and inform me about the one day delay because they needed to order the screen. It was a pleasant experience.

Now that I mentioned Apple, their service isn’t holy either, much better for sure because they are the only one in my country that fix their phone themself, and not like everybody else via a scummy third party (until 5 years ago that was different)
Anyhow Asus comes to mind when I read your comment, in my country the have two totally separate support teams, the one for computer hardware and one for smartphones.
From experience the computer one is excellent, end of story.
But the smartphone one… oh boy, what you just said about Samsung is nothing compared to the mess Asus their smartphone support here is.
In short, Zenfone 8 and ROG phone 5 had hardware related issues, Asus over here will not solve for you, if they do not say it is “your fault”, then they take in the device and the endless waiting game starts.
But poor support is again something a lot of companies have, I mean we have to deal with the big computer companies over here, and if I learned anything from them even as a business customer you get shafted.
Dell comes to mind as the worst offender, you can already guess why their computers contain so much custom parts, so that you pay the big fat bill for it.
Anyhow as for smartphone companies none of them had good support over here, Apple has the best one out of what is sold here, but even Apple is bad in my opinion, mostly because they are the only ones allowed to fix the crap.
If anything LG had some fine support here, but they are gone.
As for computer companies, Asus has good support but far at the top are actually all the custom system builders, they have very personal support that really wants to help, maybe that’s the reason they are so good.
Conclusion, we need more smaller companies that make smartphones and put the customer in the first place.

I brought a smarttag here in India, just after a month of use it stopped working. I submitted it to samsung service center. Today 6 months warranty is over still Samsung could not get hold of a replacement unit all these while. Two months back they initiated refund. But delaying it till eternity. I have already submitted my identification documents, copy of bank details two months back. This saga has completely lifted my faith in brand Samsung.
You can google ” Samsung water scandal ” also “exynos 9610 and 9611” scandals. To be frank Samsung is a fraud company as far as I’m concerned.

This isn’t about some tag, this is about a function you have turned on by default in the settings. It uses bluetooth low energy, but I turn it off anyway. Waste of battery life.

[deleted post]Low to go that route, I like xiaomi (but hate MIUI) but the sad fact is that china as a country has it’s “cons”.
I do however think that Xiaomi has become too lazy, if the US wasn’t so childish we would still have Huawei around (the Huawei it was, not the current situation of them in the west)
The current smartphone market is kinda boring now, Apple and Samsu g do their usual stuff, good but also a lot of bad.
Chinese companies copy paste each other.
And Motorola and Sony become irrelevant for the biggest chunk of the market (fine devices, but the market cares about cheap china phones)
As for the whole smart tags, neither Xiaomi or Samsung were the first, so the very first comment was already nothing more than pouring extra oil in the fire. (GSMArena comment section in a nutshell)

Many brands make tags , the difference is that Apple aurtags actually work. No tacky software and good hardware. They just work !
